Recycling is worth it! Our amateur radio club Spittal Drau has impressively proven this. At the beginning of this year, one of our members received a special gift basket from a radio amateur friend from OE7 / Tyrol – it contained dismantled battery blocks. They immediately went to work to discover the potential of these discarded parts.
With care and technical skill, the good battery cells were sorted out from the bad ones step by step and their capacity was tested. The rescued cells were then installed in powerful battery management systems (BMS) and placed in appropriate battery boxes. The result was impressive: the recycled components were used to create not only high-quality power banks, but even two complete battery packs!

The battery packs and USB power banks were quickly donated to the local branch ADL 805 Gailtal of the ÖVSV LV8.

Dear friends of the local office ADL 805 Gailtal, we wish you a lot of joy and benefit with your new energy sources! May they accompany you long and reliably in your radio activities. Maybe this example will inspire you to upgrade even discarded technology.
Good luck and 73! Your amateur radio club Spittal Drau
