On August 14, 2024, Michael, OE8YML, and his daughter Tamara set off to the Krobather Berg (OE/KT-411) to be activated for the first time as part of the SOTA program. The ascent began in Paindorf and first led along the road to Krobathen before continuing along a forest road into nature.
Thanks to the friendly support of a nice woman who lives there, the two of them safely found their way to the summit, which is decorated with a summit cross designed by students.
Once at the top, they successfully activated the summit on the 2m band. The first activation was a complete success and there was great joy.
The nice woman from Krobathen would be happy if more hikers and radio amateurs visited the mountain in the future, as the climb is fun not only for nature lovers, but for the whole family. No matter whether you complete the entire route or start from Krobathen – the Krobather Berg is a worthwhile destination for everyone.
